The Ultimate Book of Plants and Gardens

The Ultimate Book of Plants and Gardens is a conceptual illustration project exploring the structure, form, and composition of plants. The work is rooted in direct observation of nature, inspired by visits to the Kew Gardens and research into botanical texts. It explores how plants can be turned into images by combining science and art.

The aim was to study natural plant structures and reinterpret them through illustration that sits between graphic abstraction and realism. The visual language I selected is bold and expressive, while carefully preserving the delicate complexity of each subject. The result is an imaginary botanical book, where the illustrations function as both artistic explorations and speculative pages from an unrealised field guide.
