The European Cannabis Investment Ecosystem Report

First Wednesdays is Europe’s largest professional networking community for the cannabis industry. They commissioned the design of a report on investment activity in the European cannabis market and its investors. The report was produced by Hanway Associates and published by First Wednesdays, in partnership with DLA Piper, Enexis, and Hannam & Partners. Data was provided by Crunchbase and Seedrs.

The brief was to create a report that clearly communicated its data-driven foundation and methodology, while conveying a strong sense of credibility and authority. The intended tone was that of a scientific publication: structured, precise, and grounded in research.

Using First Wednesdays’ brand elements, I developed the report’s layout and visual language, including custom illustrations. The design approach combined a clean, minimal structure with subtle narrative references to the cannabis industry, creating a visual ecosystem that reflects its complexity and interconnected nature. Infographics visual style reinforces the concept throughout.

The result is a cohesive, informative report that communicates complex data with clarity and precision, while maintaining a confident and credible tone.
