Inside Civil Engineering Design

The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), one of the world's oldest engineering institutions, commissioned a dashboard to accompany a publication titled A Review of UK Civil Engineers' Experiences of Design, based on the National Infrastructure Commission's (NIC) design principles for national infrastructure and developed in collaboration with the NIC Design Group.

The challenge was to transform a highly technical subject into an engaging visual experience by creating an infographic that highlighted the key statistics and insights while making the content more accessible and compelling.

To achieve this, I developed an illustrated infographic that brought the data to life. Custom illustrations were used to visually represent the key findings, helping to communicate complex information in a more approachable, memorable, and engaging way while reinforcing the publication's core messages.
